In 1998, Football Frenzy Online began as a simple database application and has evolved into one of the leading football pool management websites. It was designed to be a fast loading, light-weight, and highly functional system that is very easy to use.

It began as an idea to automate report generation and calculate pool winners. First, it would generate pick sheet reports, which would be handed out to each pool participant. When the pick sheets were returned, those picks would be entered in the system. Once that was complete, a report showing everyone's pick would be generated and handed out to all of the pool participants. The game results would be entered into the system, and it would calculate the winner(s). If this sounds familiar, you know how much time you spend running a pool. You can easily spend 8-10 hours a week, and that's with using a database application. Then it occurred to me that many of these processes could be eliminated by moving the application out to the web.

The web site development effort began in 2000. There were two things that I wanted out of the site. It needed to be quick loading and fully functional. I didn't want to waste bandwidth with unnecessary images and unnecessary information, but at the same time I needed to be able to fully manage my pool from any computer with an internet connection.

That same year I completed the development effort. I knew that this web site would help me save time managing my pool, but I had no idea the savings would be so dramatic. I was spending about 10 minutes a week managing my pool, which from 8-10 hours is a savings of 98%. The web site worked so well and I got such great feedback, that I decided to make it available for public use.

Over the years we have made huge strides improving the look and feel of the site, adding various features to enhance the user experience, and we are always looking for ways to improve it.
